The ability to capture an individual’s story through the medium of photography has always fascinated me. Through my travels I have been fortunate enough to bond with so many strangers. I honestly could not be more thankful to them for opening up and letting me catch a glimpse of what truly makes an individual unique.

I also love experiencing and documenting random situations. Some of my unforgettable memories have been skating the best street spots in Barcelona till 5AM with the locals, eating Basashi (raw horse meat) in Japan, driving into Skidrow LA to hand out thousands pairs of jeans to the homeless, taking the Maid of the Mist boat deep into the Niagara Falls, trying to control a Tony Hawk autograph signing in middle America with a gazillion fans in line, and chasing storms across Tornado alley.

Growing up in Holland and traveling around Europe introduced me early on to a variety of cultures. In 2005 I moved to Los Angeles to finish my university, be with my lady and work in the Action Sports Industry for Blitz Distribution. In 2008, I joined the Volcom family in their Marketing Department. I have to say, I have a lot of respect for Volcom’s business and marketing approach. It is amazing to be surrounded by creative people who share the same vision and passion for art, skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding and music. Today, I happily live in Long Beach, CA with my beautiful wifey Jennifer and 2 awesome cats.
